Tomo acquires Fae

Tomo is acquiring Fae, one of the earliest and most influential iMessage agents for Gen Z.
Tomo’s thesis has always been that the best way to disperse intelligence to everyday people is to build agents that are both capable and socially intelligent. It’s one of the reasons that over 100,000 users count on Tomo to help them go further.
Early on, we noticed we weren’t the only ones who shared this thesis. One other company was executing on it at a scale similar to ours, and that company was Fae.
Today, we’re bringing the two together. Fae users will join the Tomo network, combining Tomo’s foundation with Fae’s community and culture.
Why Fae?
The Friends for Humanity team has been among the most creative in imbuing Gen Z culture into personal agents.
We were impressed by how many features the Fae team had built purely to deliver more delight to their users: beyond being a general-purpose agent, Fae sent memes, TikToks, and was even able to play GamePigeon on iMessage.
We were particularly impressed that the Fae team was able to build mindshare amongst teens and young adults outside of Silicon Valley. Fae’s most popular feature, the FPTI (Fae Personality Type Indicator), has helped more than 100,000 people better understand who they are through Fae. This year, Fae has received more than 20 million messages on iMessage across 182 countries. The team’s efforts to distribute to real people strongly align with Tomo’s objective to win the hearts and minds of everyday users, which is why 98% of Tomo’s own users live outside of Silicon Valley.
Looking ahead
Fae users will begin migrating to Tomo on November 2nd, 2026. Fae’s ideas, its brand, and its community will contribute to Tomo’s path towards being the consumer agent for the next billion people.
Existing Fae users will receive a message in the upcoming days with everything they need to know about the move, including what happens to their conversations and data.
Friends for Humanity will continue building consumer AI products as an independent team. We’re grateful to them for everything they’ve created, and we’re excited to welcome the Fae community to Tomo.
